Beyoncé in Formation at Levi Stadium
Ok, ladies now let's get in FORMATION!!!
For the third time this year, Beyoncé slayed the stage at Levi Stadium when she returned for a second show on The Formation World Tour. And yours truly was there to capture it all!
Beyoncé had the entire stadium singing and dancing along to every song on September 17 in Santa Clara as she danced across the stage belting out her multi-hits - "Formation," "Sorry," "Freedom," "Hold Up," "Crazy in Love," "Baby Boy," "Countdown," "Love on Top," "Drunk in Love," "Rocket" and many more.
What was very powerful about her performance is that in her own way, Beyoncé projected a clear message of women empowerment.
Opening one of my favorite songs "Me, Myself and I" from her first solo album, she said the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. "Every other relationship is only a bonus. It starts with how you feel about yourself," she said.
"If you are a woman, you're born strong. There's no such thing as a weak woman," she said. Bey delivered vocals and motivation.
While her vocal performances were effortlessly flawless, the visuals were another amazing aspect of the show. The huge projector screen ensured everyone in the stadium had their eyes on Queen Bey, showing clips from "Lemonade" throughout the show. Her performance of "Crazy in Love" standing atop a wooden box wearing a red latex bodysuit by Atsuko Kudo was legendary. The music, visuals, choreography and fashion of The Formation World Tour made this production one that I will never forget.
The details of the tour's exclusive designs are impeccable - from the Victorian-inspired black lace bodysuit designed by Dsquared2 paired with jeweled fishnet tights and the infamous oversized wide-brim black hat, to the bronze embellished two-piece set designed by Givenchy, and one of my favorite looks, another custom bodysuit made by Balmain with lace, ruffles, pearls and crystals.
The fashion repertoire keeps growing as Beyoncé debuts new looks along the tour. For the Santa Clara show, she wore a custom Tom Ford snake print-embellished bodysuit with leopard cuffs and a matching leopard coat. (true Texas style)
